This week, we began focusing on the user experience flow of our project. Instead of only thinking about individual spaces or activities, we started mapping how alumni and guests move through the entire experience from entry to exploration.
Experience Flow Development
We created an initial user flow that outlines the full journey, starting from entering Rec Room to navigating different spaces within the ETC reunion environment.
The experience includes:
- Entry and welcome space
- A transition corridor presenting ETC history
- A central lobby for orientation
- Multiple destination spaces such as mini game rooms, gallery, chat lounge, and photo booth
This helped us shift our thinking from isolated ideas to a more connected experience. We are now considering not just what each space does, but how people move between them and how that movement shapes the overall feeling.

Quarter Review
For this week’s quarter, we prepared a composition that included our goals, core ideas, and experience flow. We also summarized Rec Room’s current capabilities and limitations, and raised questions for discussion.

We received valuable feedback that helped us refine our direction:
- Design for low participation scenarios, ensuring the experience still feels engaging with only a few alumni
- Better represent ETC across different years
- Make project content more interactive (e.g., signing posters)
- Consider the experience of people watching from outside the platform
Team Progress
Art – We began creating character assets and thinking about room visuals.
Programming – we started working on systems for mini games, including how guests can find and access activities within spaces like the bullpen.
Production – we continued refining our visual identity, including logo iterations and moving toward a finalized poster.
Plan for Next Week
- Conduct interviews with alumni to gather direct feedback
- Refine experience flow based on user insights
- Continue developing assets and mini game systems
- Clarify interaction design between guests
