Half Presentation
Now, let’s talk about what we covered during our halves presentation!
During the presentation, we gave the audience an understanding about how’s the scenario is like for our target demographics — 10 to 14 years old student living in a small village in an emerging country. It might be hard for us to imagine what’s their daily situation so this gives them a better understanding.
We also shared with the audience our narrative and why the narrative would work. We used our “Hygiene Hero Cup” as the way to solve the barriers that we identified.

With each barriers, we used some strategies to tackle. For example, Lack of Motivation is tackled with rewards like medals and trophies in the game, and by recognizing top performers as Global Hygiene Ambassadors, elevating their social status and making hygiene education exciting.

Besides from these, we also shared our current work progress like the SME interviews we conducted, the local interview our client helped us organized, the art directions and character designs, and the current game prototype.
Our next steps for the second half of the semester would be finishing all three games and also a trip to Africa to playtest the game!

Mini 3 Game Design
The other key point this week is to finalize our mini 3 game design! The team had been struggling with finding the best game to fit the theme for a while, and it was time to finally make our decision and start to work on it.
The team came up with the idea to build a platformer running game. The character will start with wearing no shoes and the player will control the character to jump through obstacles on the ground to avoid getting hurt. Along the way, the character would have to collect the pieces of shoes, once they got all five pieces, they would be able to wear the shoes and gain the ability to go pass the obstacles without getting hurt.
The team also drew out our design of the game on a big piece of paper. We also designed a trial stage and reward stage for the game.

The team would start the mini 3 development after fall break. Tyler would made a level design system for Anna to do a level design for us to playtest on Week 8. And the rest of the team would be working on continuing our current work and also design new elements for the game!
Till then, we would have a good rest during fall break!
