Week 11: Prepare for Playtest Day

Overview:

This week’s main objective is to prepare a fully playable demo loop that we can use to test our game on Playtest Day.

Melee Enemy Animations:

We added animations to our melee enemies to give them a bit more lives and dynamic to the game.

Map 2 Modification:

We modified the structure of the Map 2 to give it a more vertical experience.

We also hide some chest in the corner, protected by a ranged enemy, to give players awards but also a sense of narrative.

Chest Update

We put together a new chest for special material items for elemental crafting. It opens from below to top, a rising action.

Survey for Playtest:

We created a survey so we can get a sense of how players feel when playing our games. Some of the basic questions include knowing their habit of playing mobile games.

Some other questions relate to how many features they have discovered in our game, so we can evaluate if our game is conveying our core loop clearly.

How many times a player died could be a good way to let us know the overall difficulties of the first-person dungeon level.

We also asked about some User Interface update, and see if they understand what they are looking at.

Summary:

This week is all about putting together a build and get ready for the playtest. Hopefully it work out great!
