Feb 13 – 19
Summary:
As the Half presentation is coming in 2 weeks, we started to boost up adding up details and cover the whole experience of Part1(Tutorial) and Part2(Small Task).
Production:
To share the progress and task more clearly, we started to use the User story & Kanban Board at the meeting.
Playtest & Iteration:
We shared the latest build and playtest2 videos to our client Brad.
Brad and Bobby thought we were heading to right direction and gave us following feedbacks:
- To use actual Chaperone grid instead of the modeled boundary grid
- To add a visual signal that clearly shows whether boots are activated or not
- The footprint guiding the first steps were good
- Drastic turn as the guest comes out of the cabin is a problem
- Walking distance to the console button (Task1) is too long
- Location of the teleport would be better to be aligned with the console to be more recognizable
- Agree to adding the button at the teleport as well
- Height of the Console Screen was bit high
- Not sure of the reason, but had a mild motion sickness
Programming:
After we shared the issue of guests keep deactivating boots by accidentally clicking the VIVE controller’s touch pad, Bobby helped us find a solution to use SDK to make the touch pad button not deactivate the boots during the content.
Art & UI:
Based on the playlets, client and advisor feedback, and team meeting, we decided to
- Shorten the walking distance to Task1, 2
- Change the layout to replace possible drastic turns with gradual turning
- Change the Console screen into hologram screen
- Add more visual cues for intuitive instructions, shorten the scripts and minimize texts
