render and showcase
This week marked the conclusion of production for our concluding scene, a momentous achievement for our team. We dedicated ourselves to pushing creative boundaries, particularly with the impactful electric shock and eye-opening shots. The culmination of our efforts leaves us immensely proud of our final product.
In enhancing the electric shock effect, our animators meticulously incorporated noise into the rig, seamlessly blending it with various passes. This technique ensured that the monster exhibited dynamic poses while continuously trembling, thereby injecting an additional layer of vitality into the animation.
In crafting the eyes opening animation, our animators employed blend shapes within Maya to seamlessly morph between various facial expressions, including squinting, fully opening the eyes, and even a frown. To heighten the realism and believability of the sequence, they ingeniously integrated subtle eyelid twitching, synchronizing it with the electric shock, thus enhancing the overall authenticity of the monster’s reaction.
As we enter the final phase of production, our project office has transformed into an official render farm. This pivotal moment calls for the entire team to convene, meticulously scrutinizing the render videos for any imperfections and initiating re-rendering sequences where necessary. Additionally, we orchestrated two premieres, inviting faculty members and students to offer their invaluable feedback while celebrating our collective achievements. These events served not only to seek final adjustments but, more importantly, to share in the triumphs and joys of our collaborative journey.
