About Big Picture Studio
INTRO
Big Picture Studio is an interdisciplinary team creating a 20-minute, cooperative puzzle-narrative played across 4 mobile screens. Our experience focuses on cross-device interactions, requiring players to physically connect and rearrange phones to progress. We aim to evoke wonder as the seams between separate devices vanish to reveal a unified world. We are innovating how to use an existing platform (the phones) as modular frames, where distinct approaches (comic book panels, puzzle gameplay, film narrative) inform how content can seamlessly integrate into what best showcases this new medium.
GAME SYNOPSIS
The year is 0. A lone probe descends onto an emerald planet overtaken by alien life. Beneath moss and fungal growth lie remnants of a civilization long forgotten. Explorer Naiad must piece together the planet’s buried memories, confronting questions about her own origins and the exile that brought her here.
PROCESS
We follow an incremental, “moments-based” approach, using prototypes that combine comic-inspired visuals with cross-phone mechanics. Ultimately, we are investigating how physical alignment can drive a meaningful journey that connects both the devices and the players around the table.
