This was a short week because we had Softs on Monday and then we’re gone for Thanksgiving break. After that, we will be in the final week of development, preparing for festival and our final presentation.
Softs
We’re grateful that we got a large number of faculty member to test our level during Soft. They gave us a lot of feedback on our current design and advice for how to wrap up the rest of the semester. We were also looking for advice for what we could best present our project during final presentation week.
Here is a summary of the feedback we collected.
Level Design:
- We can improve the lighting to add more contrast to the stealth atmosphere
- There are some small audio issues that are distracting
- Our intro sequence should be slowed down since it’s currently hard to read
- There should be some feedback when the players are using their abilites incorrectly
- Some of the animation triggers are playing more than once
Finals Presentation:
- Highlight the our design choices
- Emphasis lessons learned
- Define the level design pipeline
- Discuss the priorities and how to celebrate the work
- Include a 90-second playthrough
- Address what level design means for the project.
Next Steps:
After Thanksgiving break, the team will make one last build for festival and prepare the room to accomodate the rush of people. In addition, we will finalize our presentation and begin practicing.
