Week 14: Festival and Finals

We’ve accomplished so much this semester, more than we anticipated. The final week was a testimate to all the work and love that we have put into this project. Thank you to our project instructors Ruth Comley and Ricardo Washington for advising us throughout the semester. Also a very special thank you to Ketul Majmudar, our subject matter expert. His guidance helped us every step of the way and we couldn’t have made such a complete project without him.

Festival

Festival was an amazing event! ETC festival is an event held at the end of the Fall semester. It’s primary focus is on the 2 week projects from the Building Virtual Worlds class. Usually the 2nd year projects don’t get as much traction because they are longer experiences and don’t alway result in games. However, this year, we got a lot of attention from visitors.

Our room had a TV and waiting area for guest to watch our game trailer while they waited for 1 of the 6 computer to open up. In the four hours that the project was open, there was never a computer free!! If visitors played for around 15 minutes each that means we could have had up to 96 playtesters during festival!! That’s insane.

We got tons of love from people watching the trailer and playing the game. We’re so happy that we could share our level with our loved ones and the rest of the ETC community.

Final Presentation

After the excitement of festival, there was one thing left to do; our final presentation. We took a lot of the advice from Softs and focused our presentation on how we made design decisions and what level level design means to us.
