Artists

The Artists worked on finding a solution to the knee IK issues with the retargeted animations, this was successful, however, it created a slightly new problem where the character’s feet do not accurately touch the ground as they did previously, however, this can be solved by manually editing the key frames where the character’s feet touch the ground. Furthermore, the artists did another round of iterations on the storyboards where the characters have to deal with a similar situation each and react differently based on the head of the customizable character. With the new information provided by the client meeting, the stories should be snippets from that character’s life and the resolution of conflicts or problems presented on camera do not need to be present necessarily for the character’s journey through the scenes. Also, our third head is in the works this week and should be completed shortly after we come back from spring break. Below are some images of the head:

Programmers

This week, Robin put our donut head in to the app and got it triggered by the chair during half presentation live demo. Also, Robin restored this function of the app that animations should be played when the app detects the specific trigger, but for reasons she does not know, it did not. Robin restored the previous version’s iterations and now the programmers can trigger the client’s animation scenes in sequence without having to press any buttons. There is a bug that the programmers happen to be triggering the same animations when scanning different triggers, which is probably an animation loading issue that Robin is going to try to fix next week.

UI/UX Designers

The UI Designers worked on iterating the UI with the intention of finding the balance of invisible UI and intuitive UI. This iteration included a series of questions for the play testers to answer once they go through he experience. The UI Designers also worked on designing the wireframe of this UI and found extra references for this UI iterations. Below is the most recent UI:
