Week 8 – March 18, 2022

UI Updates

After playtesting with ETCers, we made several UI changes and made the final decision on the UI Flow.

UI Flow

For example, after the playtest, we turned the valve upside down. We moved the equation upper and make the font larger to emphasize it. We also made the Run button grey in the tutorial part.

In the playtest, one of the feedback is that the GO and STOP sign felt like clickable to the players. So we changed the sign into a new page to inform players about the movement of the car.

Tech Update

Bug fixes:

  • Fixed liquid particle colors problems
  • Add collider to valve and add brake before mixing
  • Only after clicking run the indicator will appear

To-do:

  1. Updating UI arrangements according to wireframe (Chenguang)
  2. Mixing effect for red particles and green particles (Rohit, Abhi)
  3. Tying a new visual effect of liquid, updating project to URP (Rohit, Chenguang)

  • Finish Intro, Level 0, Level 1
  • Finish Level 2 Design 

Next week (Week 9):

  • Playtest Level 0, 1 with AIPI students
  • Level 2 Development

  • Beautify UI
