Week 8 – Camera! Lights! Action!

Production:

We are back from spring break and next week is GDC! Our team will be heading to a conference in San Francisco, which took another week out of the production timeline. This week was heavy on the filming and editing side.

We reviewed the backlog and iterated the assets, which increased from around 250 to 290. The increase in assets was necessary to fill the room with details. However, to reduce workload and keep the scope under control, we decided to utilize free and open-source assets for most of the existing items. We would still make unique assets from scratch, including artificial organs and e-pets.

Design:

This week was also heavy on world-building. Although we had a general idea of the world and what happens in each room, we continued to work out the details. The design will be visualized in the upcoming weeks.

Filming:

Actors have been replaced in test shots and acting scenes have been refilmed with more precise lighting and camera angles to mimic the VR scenes. We are looking at about 10 videos, including actors, advertisements, and miscellaneous clips for room details.
