Week Twelve Post

This week we have a major update on the inspiration function. We also keep iterating the designer & funder page to improve user experience. 

Content Update

The terms like ‘I won the round’ or ‘Choose a winner’ have been altered to sentences like ‘Pitch selected’ and ’Select your favorite pitch’ to avoid over-gamify the experience. We want the players to focus on authentic topics instead of being competitive and winning the game.

UI/UX and Art

We re-designed the funder’s page so players can see the topics & requirements clearly. ‘Personal Interest’ is now hidden at the beginning so Funder can reveal it later and use it as an optional criteria. The personal interests we have may affect Funder’s decision on the selection of pitches so we want to downplay the weight of personal interest as judging criteria. 

The players can now also track how many rounds they played and the number of pitches selected. The data is all stored locally on the device.

We also completed some minor changes to improve the interactions. And we have implemented SFX and music.

Inspiration 

After Designers enter the topic code they can click the ‘Inspiration’ icon next to the topics to see the additional information on particular topics. This function can help players understand the topic’s context and inspire ideas based on those topics.

Refined Poster Design

We have updated the Poster Design. The project Title is still not finalized yet.

Next week will be the soft opening week. ETC faculties will playthrough our project and we will be ready to show the progress we have. See you next week!
