Week 7 started with the team presenting at the halves presentation at the ETC. You can watch our presentation here- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SRSfIVWNEEU and find our slides below.

We used this week to finalize our requirements for the Kinect and projectors. We visited our site at the Mattress Factory with our client and conducted projection tests to achieve seamless projections on all 6 walls – left, right, front, back, ceiling and floor, creating an immersive experience.

Upon testing we realized the challenge of placing the projectors such that they don’t disrupt the experience by producing guests’ shadows. This led us to not use the back wall for projecting and instead use it for holding projectors for all walls. We decided to build a partition in front of the back wall with a print of Renee’s artwork to hide the projectors.

Utilising the 3D model of the gallery space provided to us by the Mattress factory, we created a mock up of our installations. This provided our client with a proper visualisation of the space to suggest detailed improvements.

The guest will enter in room 1. Room 1 has a 5ft wide screen installed in the centre with interactive projection on both sides. The guest will play the interaction on both side of the screen and then follow the men running from the screen to room 2. In room 2 the guest will view Renee’s artworks projected on 5 walls of the room covering the entire wall to bring an immersive feeling. In room 2 the guests will also see a 7ft tall print of Renee’s photography artwork. There will be a mirror on the opposite side of the print work which will allow the guests to see themselves as part of the artwork. After viewing this space the guest will exit into the other exhibits.
