Feedback From Our Clients and Guests
Ozzie Rodriguez
    Ozzie Rodriguez

    Director of Archive, La MaMa

It provides a different way, a different approach to the material other than the hands on business that goes on in an archive every single day. It involves a creative effort on the part of the young people putting together these projects.

I think it is it has a lot of potential to engage people in a way that the object sort of sitting static by itself isn’t possible. And I also do like the idea of having it be a way to support Ozzie’s tours that he gives, which is itself actually quite interactive and very engaging.

This was like one semester projects and they only had like 14 weeks and also there are many, many challenges, especially technically. I think technically they did amazing job and also like art and design, I think it’s very user friendly.

Your team accomplished a great deal, and you have a variety of playful experiences for guests to see. You should have a lot of praise and excitement in your project room for Festival!

              Professor of Media at CMU

It’s just been a pleasure working with this group of students because their passion and energy were at 110% from day one all the way to the end of the semester. I’ve been part of a lot of really successful projects at the ETC as an advisor but I think the La Mama Theater Archive project is probably one of the highlights of my experiences here.

Assistant Teaching Professor at CMU ETC

One of the things that I think this project team does very well is the explore a lot of different variations of augmented realit. We have things like interacting with a full body puppet, interacting with masks, bringing posters to life and even though we have these vastly different types of augmented reality experiences, it still feels like one experience in the archive.

                Popular Question From Guests

If your questions are not included below, please send us a message through Contact page. We are happy to help!

How do I start the experience?

All of our 5 experiences can be accessed on the above placards. Most of the expereinces are made for in-person guests at the La MaMa Archive.

If you do not have access to the La MaMa Archive, we recommend trying out Na Haaz Zan and Loco7. These two can be accessed anywhere!

Why am I not seeing anything after scanning?

With La Marie Vison and La MaMa Collage, we have seen this happen. If you see a black box floating or just empty after you turned on the camera and scanned the photos, it means it’s

                • either taking a long time to load
                • or the web broswer you are using is not really compatible
                • or you are on Low Battery mode.

We suggest refreshing the page or trying with Chrome or other browser of your choice. If you are on Low Battery mode, we suggest turning it off for the experience.

                I’m interested in La MaMa!

                That’s awesome to hear.
