Week 15- The Finals Countdown
Welcome to our last blog post! The only events this week were our final presentation on Wednesday and striking the space throughout the week.
Welcome to our last blog post! The only events this week were our final presentation on Wednesday and striking the space throughout the week.
Welcome to the last week for Little Big Engineers! On Friday of this week, from 6-10pm, we welcomed guests to our project room to experience Return of the Dragon, our interactive walkthrough attraction. But let’s not get ahead of ourselves- plenty of last-minute work got us to this point!
This week was our soft opening, and a huge amount of crunch went into getting us ready for faculty feedback on Wednesday and Thursday. We achieved a ton of things very quickly, so let’s get into it!
This week was Thanksgiving, which meant that everything was a little different on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. Luckily, only two of us were traveling out of Pittsburgh for Thanksgiving, and Nolan’s travel back to his hometown actually worked in our favor. We ended up each having at least one workday during the break, and are much closer to executing our original vision now. We are feeling ready for our soft opening next week!
Welcome back to our last week before IAAPA! This week saw some unpleasant weather and very long days for us. With Lori leaving on Wednesday for the Toronto Metropolitan University Thrill Design Invitational, and the rest of us flying out over the weekend, we had a ton that had to get done!
Happy Halloween, and Happy November! We had our second round of Process Grades, and IAAPA is just on the horizon, so we’re really feeling the need to get everything done. Luckily, this was a productive week all around!
It’s Playtest Day week! Everything was focused this week on getting the entirety of Rooms 1-3 ready to playtest with complete strangers on Saturday.
It’s Fall Break, but the Little Big Engineers toil on. Because the whole team will be gone for IAAPA in Week 11, and Lori will also be gone for two days of Week 10 for the Toronto Metropolitan University Thrill Design Invitational, we worked a modified core hours schedule while our classmates were away. Despite no faculty in the building and no playtesters to be found, it was still a very productive week, and we were actually able to work efficiently enough for a four-day weekend!
This week was our busiest yet! Our Halves presentation was the very first one on Monday, and we wasted no time in getting down to business afterwards. Watch our presentation here; we are the first ones!
This week, we finally locked down several elements of the design that were really frustrating! We were able to make progress on several things that we’re confident will actually end up being used. It really did feel like we made weeks worth of progress in just a few days by setting aside time to nail the story.
