  • Conducting playtests with IAW students and ETC guests
  • Observing player behavior and interaction patterns
  • Gathering feedback to inform future iterations

Playtest Overview

  • IAW Playtest — 6 students, 5 survey responses
  • ETC Playtest Day (Mar 28) — 18 participants, 13 survey responses

IAW Playtest

  • Submission area for completed welded pieces was not intuitive
  • Navigation in-game felt unsmooth
  • Welding machine was difficult to turn on, with no clear ON/OFF indicator
  • Opportunity to escalate the experience into something larger or more rewarding

ETC Playtest

Most Memorable / Enjoyable
  • Looking out into space
  • Welding mechanics felt realistic and satisfying
  • Ability to create and assemble art pieces
  • Helmet safety implementation
  • Freedom in creativity
Least Enjoyable
  • Directions and guidance were unclear
  • Power button interaction was confusing
  • Uncertainty about correct welding distance
  • Lack of motivation tied to repairing the spaceship
  • Free-build mode could include more diverse pieces (colors, shapes)
  • Difficulty understanding controller usage
