Project Overview
As a student pitch team, we are highly motivated and enthusiastic about this project. During our team meeting this week, we conducted an intensive brainstorming session and discussed our project schedule, tool setup, and the various forms of support we will need moving forward. In our advisor meeting, we further refined our proposal.
The core of our project is to explore tangible immersion in Mixed Reality (MR)—an area that has not yet been meaningfully explored. Tangible immersion goes beyond the conventional coexistence of virtual and physical worlds in MR. Instead, it focuses on enabling active interaction between the two, where objects in the physical and virtual worlds can influence and transform one another, ultimately creating a new and cohesive MR reality.
Our Vision for Tangible Immersion
- Counterintuitive design
- Deep integration of virtual and physical realities

Progress
- Team formation and kickoff discussions
- Tools and workflow successfully established
- Brainstorming sessions focused on project definition and identifying “magic moments” within tangible immersion

What’s Next
Moving forward, we will further narrow our focus on tangible immersion.
- The Tech team will break down our concepts into technical prototypes and develop several foundational tangible immersion prototypes next week, including establishing connectivity for a multi-user MR experience.
- The Art team will conduct research into potential artistic directions based on our brainstorming outcomes and begin drafting design concepts for team materials such as the poster and half-sheet.
By next week, we plan to integrate both the technical and artistic prototypes into a cohesive experience, enabling users to more intuitively understand and engage with the concept of tangible immersion.
