dev blog week 10

Summary

  • Finished the design document of the isometric platformer;
  • Discussed and calculated the specific movement parameter as a team;
  • Continued to wrap up the FPS game UI;
  • Created character model and animations;
  • Built a prototype that players can traverse.

Design

We are excited to announce that we have finished the 1st draft of movement combo design of our platformer game. The movement combo system will allow players to chain together a variety of different moves and actions, such as jumping, wall sliding and electricity unleash to create fluid and dynamic combos. This will add a layer of depth and strategy to the game, and will allow players to express their creativity and skill as they navigate the game world and overcome challenges. We have spent a lot of time refining the movement combo system to ensure that it is intuitive and responsive.

We also built the FPS game’s UI wireframe and finished a UI low fidelity interactive prototype. The wireframe outlines the overall structure and layout of the game’s user interface, including the locations of different elements such as the score and timer. The low fidelity prototype allows us to test and refine the UI’s design and functionality, and to ensure that it is user-friendly and intuitive. We are excited to continue developing the UI, and to bring it to life with color, graphics, and animations.

Art

Our artist has created a robot character and its animations for our game. The robot is a unique and interesting character, with a sleek and futuristic design. The character has a variety of different animations, including idle, running, jumping, wall sliding, double jump and electric unleash, which will allow it to move smoothly throughout the game world. The animations bring the robot to life in a way that is both engaging and visually appealing.

Programming

The programmer built a platformer prototype that players can traverse and explore. The prototype includes a basic platformer level, with white box platforms, obstacles, and collectibles, as well as a character that can move and jump around the level. The prototype allows us to test the core mechanics of our game, and to see how players interact with the game world and its challenges. We are excited to continue building and refining the prototype.
