Week 12 – April 15th

This week has a short production cycle due to the CMU Carnival and ETC East coast trip. During this week, we tried to make as much progress on the characters as possible. On Wednesday, Dr. Silk came to playtest our experience. Prior to that, the team did a lot of bug fixing to make sure the playtest goes smoothly.

Art Updates

The artist that has been helping with our asset creation, Rei Yamada, has made a lot of progress on the male and female characters. Here are some screenshots of her progress:

Meeting with Dr.Silk

On Wednesday, Dr. Silk came to the ETC to playtest our experience. Overall, she thinks our project has great potential. She would use our experience for an in-session exposure therapy, because it’s hard to simulate a party in a clinic. Without it, they would have staff act out a fake party. Before the session, they would also work with patients to come up with a plan to tackle this scenario.

She also gave us some great advice on what the next step looks like. To take this experience to the next level, we could create more scenarios using the same framework. She is particularly interested in seeing a virtual restaurant or a store. In the restaurant the player could order something and would be told that it’s not available. In the store, the player could try to pay but couldn’t find their wallet.

Playtesting on Friday

On Friday, we had another playtest with around 10 high school students. The students like it overall. The dialogue system was working well.

Agenda for next week
