Week 13 – April 22nd

The team started this week with our soft opening with the faculty on Monday. We then spent the rest of the week fixing bugs and updating our games based on the feedback. We also added an ending to the game. On Friday, we had our soft opening with the alumni using our latest build.

Faculty Softs

On Monday, we had three faculty members, Ruth, Dave and Mo, come to test our experience. Ruth pointed out a lot of bugs that affected user experience. Dave gave us really good feedback on the UI, and Mo focused on the social scenarios that we created in our game. Based on the feedback, we redesigned the dialogue UI, so that the dialogue options are now side by side. We also adjusted the spawning of the NPCs, and the NPCs will spawn based on the height of the user. We also added a simple ending to our game

Alumni Softs

On Friday, ETC alumni, Pavan Paravasthu and Shawn Patton, came to our project room to playtest our experience. We discussed our development process with Pavan. We also asked them a lot of questions on whether the decisions and changes that we made are helpful and intuitive.
